South Region Teacher Spotlight

Mr. Donald Dalton, (pictured 5th:L.to R.) is a true example of "Transform-Purpose to Action". He has been teaching for 39 Years!!! His classroom instruction is second to none, and he knows how to grow just about any vegetable crop! He comes from a strong farming family in Grady County were they grew and harvested tobacco and vegetable crops for Roddenberry Foods.  He can transform a regular trailer and seat 28 kids for what he calls a "mobile classroom"!! He makes learning have purpose by doing hands on labs in the shop, greenhouse, and crop production plots at Thomas County Central High School. He has coached numerous land judging and tractor driving participants while serving as an FFA Advisor. For the past 4 years Mr. Dalton has successfully started the Young Farmer program in Thomas County. This past October, he was fortunate to have the winning horseshoe pitching team at the annual Sunbelt EXPO Q-Fest!   Through his direction and leadership, Young Farmer members gain valuable citizenship, crop production, and wisdom not only in production agriculture but life itself!  Thank you Mr. Dalton for helping Agriculture Education be a vital component in Thomas County
