FFA Day at the Georgia National Fair

Georgia FFA Day at the Georgia National Fair was held October 9 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry. The program is designed for students in grades 6-9 to learn more and get excited about FFA and agricultural education. Throughout the day’s events, students are able to interact with Georgia FFA Area Officers while learning more about all that FFA has to offer.  Students had the opportunity to listen to our motivational speaker- former national FFA officer, Erica Der, and enjoy the Georgia National Fair’s midway in the afternoon.

Nearly 1,800 students attended and discovered the countless opportunities available in agricultural education and the FFA. The area officers spent weeks preparing for the event. Students were allotted time to visit the area officers’ booths that interest them.  The area officers’ booths covered topics relevant to agricultural education, forestry, wildlife, animal science, agricultural mechanics, and FFA. “I am proud of the work that the Area Officers do with their projects, and proud of the partnership with the Georgia National Fair,” said Ben Lastly, Georgia FFA Executive Secretary.
