Creed

To love, respect, understand, and guide the student for a life of unfolding possibilities is the task of the teacher; to give aid, counsel, and support to fellow teachers and to all agencies promoting the love of truth, beauty, and goodness is the priviledge of the teacher.

President's Message

Fall 2007

Dear KDE Members,

As educators, we know the importance of timeliness. I want to bring your attention to the following timelines for this fall:

Sept- Nov Time to nominate and elect KDE officers for 2008

September Time for chapters to do some fundraising to send members to Regional Meetings

October Time to attend a Regional Meeting (see dates and locations on Conventions page)

Nov-Dec Time to install officers for 2008

Sounds like a busy fall! Add to this your local projects, classes, social life, and you are very busy.

Current officers, please do not forget to complete your end of year reports and get them to all the proper people BEFORE you leave for winter break. Here are the reports due and who should complete them. They should be prepared and mailed so they are received by December 31, 2007.

  • New Officer Form (Form 130) – send to National President and Regional Director – may be submitted by the outgoing President, Secretary or chapter Advisor
  • Chapter Activity Report (Form 140) – send to National President and Regional Director –should be completed by the chapter Vice President and signed by the chapter Advisor
  • Chapter Financial Report (Form 150) – send to National President, National Treasurer and Regional Director – should be completed by the chapter Treasurer and signed by the chapter Advisor
  • Alumni Dues Report (Form 151) – send to the National Treasurer with a copy to the National President and Regional Director – should be completed by the chapter Treasurer and signed by the chapter Advisor. Correct monies should be attached. [NOTE: This is for Alumni Chapters only – not for collegiate chapters.]

Chapters who do not complete and submit the above reports in a timely manner are not considered “in good standing” and will not be eligible for travel reimbursement for delegates to conventions.

Yours in KDE,

Lynda F. Goodwin

National President
